because it's punta cana, dominican republic!

well, july was a whirlwind of excitement - both in positives and negatives.

july 6th, we jetted off to toronto whilst en route to punta cana! why? well, it was for a wedding, of course! it was a LONG night. we left calgary at ...4PM i believe, and arrived at the toronto pearson airport at around midnight, and had a FOUR hour layover. the layover was... something. thankfully, we got free hotel rooms!!!! i got to shower and brush my teeth. hurrah for not being smelly! hahaha, but anyways, on with the pictures!

upon arriving in the COOLEST way possible (as shown above!), we arrived at sunny punta cana! yay! i HATE airplanes. LONGEST. FLIGHT. EVER. i swear. ugh! but thankfully, it was beautiful and sunny when we landed! not all gloomy and stormy as predicted by the weather network! :D

pretty much had to fill LOTS of papers out upon arrival. okay, not LOTS. just two. but it was ALL spanish. so, uh...

it was LEGIT a 3 hour wait for our resort rooms. ti-dick-yew-LOUS. but oh well! we enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch whilst waiting! we also walked around for hooours just waiting to change into our swim suits and splash about and tan. alas, we finally changed.

we went ziplining! a 2 hour drive out of the resort. 8 lines. TONS of creepy compliments. 45 minutes total. BLAST.

yeah, there wasn't really much to do on the resort besides tan, eat, and sleep... excursions were SUPER expensive... but oh well! LOTS of fantastic family time, and i miss them all very, very much. but yeah! nothing exciting happened on the resort. it was actually pretty boring... but EVERYONE got sick there. sigh! and falling asleep in the pool? NOT a smart idea... got a nice tan, but also a nice BURN. ):

what else... there were 4 restaurants opened specifically for dinner: japanese/thai, american, french, and italian food! they honestly wasn't that great... the french was fantastic, but it was restricted to 18+ only. ssssshhhh!!! ;) i did quite a lot of things there that i normally wouldn't ever do. like sneaking into a club for instance... the security there is... interesting. annoying, but easily convinced. ;) free alcohol ALL day... i've also discovered a love for strawberry daiquiris.. virgin, or course!

well, that's all for the non-wedding related stuff! that'll be up tomorrow night hopefully!
